From the editor:

When I grew up, it was almost a religion - making the trip to the newsagent to buy the official program every Thursday (or waiting for dad to bring it home). And while the world as we know it has changed, the excitement of flipping through the weekly edition, whether it was the long-running paper copies or a more modern e-book, the thrill was always the same. And I know that's a feeling rugby league fans around Australia share.

So, it was sad day learning that the official program won't be produced again in 2020. At 'LU', we have decided to take the leap and fill that void. We hope that by offering this weekly publication 'The Front Row', rugby league fans will have a similar keepsake - even if it's just online for now.

We're starting small - just the basics - but we will look to expand future editions with feature stories; columns - and of course we welcome your feedback to ensure we're providing content that readers value.

In the meantime, we're super keen to see some footy back on the field after a long, long break. Things will look different at NRL grounds for a while as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is little doubt the 400+ players across the 16 clubs still harbour the same hunger to lift the Provan-Summons Trophy in October.

Welcome back, rugby league!
