Continuing his families tradition with the game of rugby league , outstanding young stand-off Jerome Ropati has been called up by the New Zealand Warriors to cover for injured Stacey Jones and Lance Hohaia in tomorrows game against the Roosters.
Ropati, 18, has scored 12 tries in 10 appearances for Marist-Richmond Brothers this season in the national Bartercard Cup competition, and looked sure to have been an obvious threat to the Canterbury Bulls in tomorrows semi final clash.
The injury which ended Lance Hohaia's season last weekend has left the Warriors bereft of specialist inside backs.
Although neither was named to play against the Roosters in Sydney, both Ropati and Stacey Jones are travelling across the Tasman.
The Ropati family are synonymous with the game in New Zealand with 5 of Jeromes uncles playing representative football and a host of his cousins waiting their turn.
