The Knights came into the game obviously meaning business, and it showed, being 18-0 up after 28 minutes. The last try by Johns (pictured), was a simple error on the Broncos line from Berrigan. In the final 10 minutes of the first half, the Broncos started to show signs of a comeback, scoring a try, but the Knights defence held strong, and Newcastle went to the break, leading 18-4.
A lot of unforced errors by the Brisbane side did not help their cause. Three losses in a row now for the Brisbane Broncos. Newcastle on the other hand, were playing the ball at 100mph, and outscoring the Broncos by 7 tries to 2.
Stand out players for the Knights would have to be Kurt Gidley, Rudder and Parsons, true work horses. And a general applause for the rest of the Newcastle team, it was a pleasure to watch.
