The thirty man Canada Wolverine's squad has been named for upcoming 2011 internationals against Jamaica, USA and South Africa. All thirty players have been named from Canada Rugby League's inaugural domestic competition, with the Scarborough Centurions providing the largest contingent, followed closely by the 2011 champions the Niagara Bobcats.
A total of fourteen players will be returning from the Wolverine's 2010 Atlantic Cup squad, while Sam Fuimaono, Danny Tupou and Enoch Wamalwa will make their returns having played against the USA Tomahawks in last year's Colonial Cup.
"We have selected a good mix of youth and experience. It is encouraging to bring thirteen fresh faces into the mix while retaining the core of last years Wolverine's players. After playing in the domestic competition, everybody knows there is a lot of pressure for positions, a position we are happy to be in." said Canada coach Jamie Lester.
The Wolverines will be looking forward to the chance for revenge against their Atlantic counterparts having lost against Jamaica and USA last year. Coach Lester added, "last year was last year, we have a new squad now and we will be doing everything we can to bring home the wins for Canada".
