Round 4 Judiciary news

Play-the-ball010906.jpg

South Sydney lock John Sutton can escape suspension with an early guilty plea after becoming the only player charged by the NRL match review committee following round 4 matches.

Sutton has been charged with grade one contrary conduct following a trip on Bulldogs winger Hazem El Masri late in Friday night's 34-10 loss to the Bulldogs at Telstra Stadium. The charge carries a base penalty of 125 points but thanks to a previously clean record Sutton can avoid suspension with a guilty plea.

Wests Tigers backrower Bronson Harrison was cleared by the match review committee over the tackle which left North Queensland's Test second rower Luke O'Donnell with a badly damaged hamstring.
