Newcastle has announced the retention of key duo George Carmont and Reegan Tanner for the next two NRL seasons.
Centre Carmont and backrower Tanner will both remain at the Knights until the end of the 2007 season in a timely boost for the club ahead of the clash with Manly at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Sunday.
Carmont had a year to run on his current deal, but today extended his stay for a further year.
He has been in fine form during Newcastle's stunning late season run which has seen the wooden spoon favourites win five of their last seven matches.
Tanner, a local junior, agreed to a new two-year deal. The 22-year-old is the only Knight to have played in every NRL game this season.
