This decision is mutual and a result of a change of strategic direction for the club following the installation of the new board in May this year.
Chairman Steve Sharp wishes Mr. Edwards all the best for his future endeavours.
“We think he is one of sport’s great administrators but with a substantial change to the strategic direction of our club both the Board and Ken decided we needed to make this call,” Chairman Steven Sharp said.
“Two months ago when the new board was elected we wanted to achieve a number of things. We want to make the place feel like a football club again and not simply remember our proud history but take the Parramatta Eels forward to a prosperous future. “
“Following the last 60 days or so of our tenure we have already achieved some great outcomes including signing a new deal at Parramatta Stadium; created incredibly strong support for 2014 sponsorship and helped secure federal funding to turn Parramatta Stadium from a good venue to a great one.”
• Increased Junior Participation in Parramatta by 11%
• Oversaw the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan
• Created unprecedented engagement with the Parramatta Eels community and charity partners
• Oversaw the recruitment of Corey Norman, Gareth Hock and Lee Mossop
“It’s been a great honour to work at such a great club as the Parramatta Eels. I genuinely wish the new board, the passionate and loyal members and fans all the best for the future,” Ken Edwards said.
