The fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge produced no real shocks but some great efforts by Championship clubs Featherstone Rovers and Batley Bulldogs as they gave their Super League opponents a real game.

After dumping Super League neighbours Castleford out of the previous round the Championship part-timers smelt blood.
