Not a pretty win for the Bulldogs over Souths, but they managed to come out tops 28-18.

Early in the game, the Bulldogs were caught napping by the Souths players, and Souths were 12-0 up after only twelve miutes.

The Bulldogs dragged themselves back into the game, and were 16-12 up at half time.

A sometimes scrappy second half by both teams saw the lead not lengthened by the Bulldogs, and cementing the win until the 74th min.

Souths can hold their heads up for a solid performance. The Bulldogs, on the other hand, will have some pretty tough training sessions ahead of them this week.

Bulldogs 28 (Tries: Patten, Utai x3, Talau. Goals: El Masri 4/5) defeat Rabbitohs 18 (Tries: Sheehan x2, McClean. Goals: McClean 2/3, Sheehan 1/1)
