Rangers Grow in Numbers

THE Narangba Rangers junior rugby league club has enjoyed a most promising first season and the growth of the Rangers seems assured. The Narangba Rangers will complete the 2005 season with teams in each of the under seven, eight and nine age groups, and have steadily attracted new players during the course of the season, to finish with about 40 junior footballers. The Redcliffe Rugby League Club has thrown full support behind the formation of the Narangba Rangers and sees this new venture as a most important development for junior rugby league in the growing northern region. Each fixture the players have responded to the coaching instruction and have improved steadily week by week. Coaches Emmett Bailey, Bill Carter and Raimo Lavia have worked diligently to ensure the best result for the teams and the enthusiasm shown by the players is noticeable. Sponsors have stepped forward to assist overcome the financial burden on a new club and special thanks go to Keystar AutoWorld, Allabout Shopfitting, Mike Green Plumbing and Redcliffe RLFC. These supporters of our youngest footballers will go into the Rangers history book as the founding sponsors. The Queensland Rugby League, represented by new projects developer Don Oxenham and Telstra, also have contributed greatly to the establishment and development of the Rangers. You have read before the saying that goes "from small beginnings, sometimes great things grow" and it would be super if one day we could look back and state that "there was a senior representative player that began his football with the Narangba Rangers".
