Jennings leaving NZ Warriors

Vodafone Warriors general manager football Dean Bell has announced head of athletic development Carl Jennings is leaving the club.

Jennings has been at Mount Smart Stadium for two years after being appointed by former head coach Matthew Elliott in late 2012 to head up the strength and conditioning department.

"Carl has made a big contribution to the Vodafone Warriors with the work he has done in our high performance operation," said Bell.

"He has overseen major improvements in our resources and facilities notably the design and installation of the gymnasium which is now recognised as one of the best facilities in the NRL.

"We really appreciate all Carl has done at the club but he understands Cappy (head coach Andrew McFadden) is now looking to build his own team around him in the football department.

"Carl goes with our best wishes and we thank him for his efforts."

Jennings has worked as a leading strength and conditioning coach for more than 18 years.

"I'm disappointed to be leaving but I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here," he said.

"We've made a lot of progress with the players from where we started with them in late 2012 and I feel they're on the right track.

"Along with my family I'll take away a lot of good memories."

Bell said a decision was yet to be made about a replacement to head the club's strength and conditioning department.
