Big one tonight with the Broncos short of Origin stars. For Newcastle their relatively intact lineup has suffered a blow with Jeremy Smith ruled out through a sternum injury. Korbin Sims starts at lock with Pat Vaivai the new face on the bench in jumper 18.

Brisbane have rung in the changes with an already Origin-depleted squad suffering further. Dale Copley is out, forcing a major backline reshuffle. Lachlan Maranta moves to fullback, with Jordan Kahu come into the wing. Corey Oates is the new winger, while Aaron Whitchurch takes up the vacant bench role.
