Titans v Broncos preview

Gold Coast Titans v Brisbane Broncos
Cbus Super Stadium - Friday 8:35pm

The Broncos will come into this match with a few injuries, none bigger than the loss of Justin Hodges. Hodges, who injured his hamstring in the Broncos win over the Warriors, has been replaced by Dale Copley. Sam Thaiday will also return to the starting side at the expense of Adam Blair. Joe Ofahengaue has also been removed from the Broncos bench, with an extended bench named, including Mitch Garbutt, Mitchell Dodds and Francis Molo.

The Titans have one forced change, with Beau Falloon unavailable due to suspension. His position in the side will be taken by Kierran Moseley. Matt White and Lachlan Burr have been added to an extended bench.

After a loss in round 1, the Broncos have been steadily improving throughout the season. Their win over the Warriors last week wasn't an exceptional performance, but they did enough to get the two points. While the Warriors didn't come out of the sheds last week until half time, the Titans will be looking to start from the opening whistle and prevent the Broncos from getting any early traction.

The Titans will have spent this week higher on confidence that they have been so far this season. Despite the fact that they only beat the Sharks, the Gold Coast side will feel a bit less pressure after opening their account for 2015.

Last meeting: Round 10 2014 - Brisbane Broncos 22 Gold Coast Titans 8

Who to watch: For the Broncos, Corey Parker has been impressive all season. Despite looking like a 40 year old, he's playing like a 25 year old, turning back the clock to put in some great performances. The resurgence of Sam Thaiday's form in recent weeks has also helped the Broncos go forward.

Similarly, Luke Douglas and Nate Myles have also been strong for their side. So far in 2015, the two are average well over 40 tackles per game, and making their fair of hit ups as well. The battle between the two forward packs should be fantastic, especially considering we haven't even mentioned names such as Dave Taylor, Greg Bird and Josh McGuire.

The favourite: Obviously the Brisbane Broncos will start as heavy favourites. Jordan Kahu is good value for first try scorer at $18.

My tip: Despite the Titans coming into this game on the back of a win last weekend, the Broncos will simply be too strong for them. I'm expecting a highish scoring game. Broncos by 8.
