Good evening footy fans and welcome to ANZ Stadium in Sydney for the final game of Round 2. In team news for the Sharks, John Morris replaces Isaac De Gois at dummy half while Chris Heighington will start the match. Wade Graham and Jayson Bukuya will start the match on the bench.

For the home side, just the one minor change with Dave Tyrrell starting and Jeff Lima retires back to the interchange bench. Kick-off scheduled for a little after 7pm.

Full-time in the Holden Cup curtain raiser and the Rabbitohs have gotten off to a winning start for the club tonight with a 32-18 victory.

We're underway here in Monday Night Football - Round 2 edition. The Sharks will defend the southern end of ANZ Stadium and have first use of the footy.

2 min: The Sharks get through their first set and the Rabbits through Inglis have the ball on the 40m line.

3 min: Reynolds' cross-field kick is knocked on and the Sharks work the ball upfield.

4 min: Inglis picks up Carney's grubber kick in his own in-goal and returns the ball 40m.

4 min: PENALTY Rabbitohs. Cronulla spending too long to get off the tackled player.

7 min: Reynolds again kicks to the corner and the Sharks have the ball 20m from their own line through Lewis.

8 min: PENALTY Sharks. Isaac Luke ruled to have taken Carney out after the kick. Sharks on the attack.

10 min: Lewis pops his head through the line and passes to Gordon but he can't hang on and the ball goes dead. Rabbitohs 20m restart.

11 min: Sharks caught inside the 10 from the restart. Rabbitohs penalty.

13 min: Morris kicks out of dummy half and the ball sails out on the full. Rabbitohs to play the ball 40m from their own line.

17 min: Reynolds chips over the top again but Gordon is awake to the danger. Sharks in possession.

17 min: PENALTY Sharks. Lowe ruled to have gotten his hand in the play-the-ball and the Sharks kick for touch.

22 min: Te'o is caught in possession on the fifth tackle and the Rabbitohs meekly turn the ball over 10m from the Sharks line.

24 min: PENALTY Sharks. Inglis ruled to have run behind Goodwin and impeded the defence. Sharks kick for touch.

26 min: The short ball from Carney to Gallen is put down with the skipper under immense pressure from the Rabbitohs goal-line defence.

27 min: Isaac Luke throws a forward pass to Sutton as it appeared he was headed for the corner. Sharks scrum.

28 min: PENALTY Sharks. Burgess laying too long on the tackled player. Sharks on the attack.

29 min: Leutele is ruled to have lost the ball while trying to keep it alive for his winger. Rabbitohs to feed a scrum 10m from their own line.

31 min: Morris throws a forward pass out of dummy half to Carney and the Rabbitohs will go on the attack leading into halftime.

32 min: Inglis throws a great cutout pass which is put down by Merritt.

33 min: Gallen loses the ball this time. The match starting to get a bit scrappy heading to halftime.

34 min: Inglis dies with the ball on the fifth tackle and the Rabbitohs hand the ball back to the Sharks without asking too many questions in attack.

34 min: PENALTY Sharks. Burgess ruled to have crowded the play-the-ball. Carney kicks for touch.

35 min: Messy play-the-ball from Fifita and Reynolds feeds a scrum near halfway for the Rabbitohs.

36 min: Reynolds tries to grubber into the in-goal but Gordon is positioned perfectly. Unluckily for the Sharks he drops the ball attempting to get up.

37 min: And now the Rabbitohs put the ball down on tackle one.

38 min: Gordon's cutout ball intended for Ryan is knocked on by the former Tiger.

39 min: Reynolds runs the ball on the last before Everingham puts in a terrible kick.

40 min: PENALTY Rabbitohs. Merritt attempts to get a quick play-the-ball in before the siren, but can't and the referees rightly award the penalty.

40 min: Halftime at ANZ Stadium and the Rabbitohs hold a 14-6 lead in a scrappy encounter.

41 min: We're underway in the second half and the Rabbitohs, with their ears ringing, will have first use of the ball.

42 min: Green is tackled half a metre short of the Rabbitohs tryline after the Sharks kept the ball alive on the last.

44 min: Burgess strips the ball off Heighington and yet another error in this game.

45 min: Goodwin takes on Gordon and bombs a try with Inglis unmarked on his inside. Cronulla hang on.

47 min: PENALTY Sharks. Merritt is penalised for a shoulder charge on Wright and saves a try.

49 min: Razzle dazzle from the Sharks! They lose 30m and Leutele knocks the ball into Farrell. Souths scrum.

51 min: Sutton grubbers into the in-goal and Wright is tackled by Burgess. Sharks dropout.

52 min: Lima knocks the ball on as the Rabbitohs press the Sharks line.

53 min: Luke Lewis is being helped from the field by the trainer in back play.

54 min: Sutton chips for Goodwin but Beau Ryan is aware of the situation and knocks the ball touch in-goal. Sharks dropout.

55 min: Another Souths error and Gordon races up field!

55 min: Carney's pass to Ryan is ruled forward.

56 min: PENALTY Rabbitohs. Morris takes too long getting off the tackled player.

60 min: Some good goal-line defence from the Rabbitohs repels the Sharks and Goodwin takes the cross-field bomb in the field of play.

65 min: Ryan rescues the situation after the Rabbitohs had created an overlap. They will feed a scrum 30m from the Sharks line.

70 min: Carney's kick into the corner just trickles over the deadball line. Rabbitohs 20m restart.
