Sydney Roosters second row forward Anthony Tupou has been recalled into the Australian Kangaroos for the Rugby League World Cup despite being selected to play for Tonga. Tupou comes into Australia's squad for the Melbourne Storm's Michael Crocker, who was ruled out with a broken rib. A former Kangaroo, Tupou was named yesterday in a Tongan squad. He will now join the Kangaroos on Saturday week, their first match of the tournament will be against New Zealand Kiwis on October 26. In other news, Leeds Rhinos fullback Brent Webb has pulled out of the New Zealand squad with inflamation in his toes. Webb joins Storm prop Jeff Lima who withdrew from the Kiwis this week with a knee injury. St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Jason Nightingale has been named as Webb's replacement while New Zealand Warriors frontrower Evarn Tuimavave will replace Lima.

I love Rugby League and will defend it to the hilt but the more you read about it this World Cup is fast becoming a shambles, especially when the eligibility rules and it's technicalities are being forced upon some of the minnows like a millstone around there necks while the ARL and others are being allowed to muscle their way through the international playing ranks doing what they like when they like and to hell with everybody else type of attitude, will we ever wake up to these double standards.
